Excellencies, Knights and Dames,
NEXT REGULAR MEETING-- Will be held THURSDAY January 13, 2005 at 6:30 PM, 625 St. Charles Avenue,
New Orleans, LA to avoid conflict with parades. This is the same location we used for our last meeting which
is nearly adjacent to Gallier Hall... just a few steps further uptown. Election of officers (a misnomer since there
is no opposition to those standing for office) will be the first order of business. There will be light refreshments
and snacks provided. Anyone wishing to wait and have dinner after the meeting may adjourn one half block
uptown to the Lafayette Sports Club which has very reasonable fare at very reasonable prices.
This will be the last meeting at which prospective postulants may be introduced to the Priory in hopes of
being invested at the Grand Convent and Investiture 21 May 2005.
ALL APPLICATIONS FOR PROSPECTIVE POSTULANTS MUST BE
COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED WITH PASSAGE FEES TO THE PRIORY
NOT LATER THAN FEBRUARY 21, 2005.
I strongly advise all prospective candidates to forward their applications to the Registrar, Chev. Ray Egan at
3929 Veterans Blvd. Suite 202 Metairie, LA 70006 as soon as possible to ensure inclusion in the next
investiture. The next closest investiture will take place in the Spring of 2006.

GRAND CONVENT PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING-- I would like to meet with those
members involved in the planning of the May Grand Convent and Investiture on Thursday
evening January 6th or Tuesday January 11, venue TBA. I realize this is short notice, but we
cannot wait longer. It is crunch time and we must act quickly. Please respond ASAP with your
preference of meeting date. While we have signed a contract with the Crowne Plaza/Alexa
hotel, the matter of the Banquet is still unsettled. Much coordination with GPUSA liaison, Bob
Disney, must be done. Below is a list of persons on the planning committee so far:
Hotels/ Meeting Rooms- Bob Disney, Russ Copping, Ray Egan
Church / Music- Hugh Robertson, Jean Meade
Banquet/ Buffet- Ray Egan
Banquet Decoration/ Souvenirs- Susan Bell, Carole Grout, Joan Collier
Publications / Printed matter (Programs, name tags, schedules)- Russ Copping
Transportation / local finance- Bob Stroud
Flag poles / stands- Ed LeBlanc
Registration Table- Phil Arbo, Ed LeBlanc, Austin Sumner
FOR THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND OFFICERS ONLY...
IN A SEPARATE E-MAIL TO YOU IS A COPY OF A WORKSHEET FOR THE REGISTRATION FORM AND A
PAGE OF QUESTIONS WHICH NEED RESOLUTION. I HAVE RESPONDED TO BOB DISNEY WITH SOME INFORMATION
BUT ANY ITEMS FALLING WITHIN YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY PLEASE BE PREPARED TO RESOLVE
ASAP. OUR TIME FRAME IS CRITICAL AND WE DESPARATELY NEED YOUR BEST EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH
OUR GIVEN TASKS AND MOUNT A FIRST CLASS EVENT.

Those officers involved in the normal planning and execution of an Investiture should know that the
Grand Officers in attendance will usually perform the ceremonial functions, however, those local
officers will be involved in the planning phases of the Investiture. Any Grand Office holder not in
attendance will be replaced by their local counterparts and participate in the ceremony.

Fraternally yours,
Non Nobis Domine Non Nobis,

18 NOVEMBER 2004 - AFTER ACTION REPORT
The November 6 meeting held at 625 St. Charles Avenue was fairly attended and the dinner in honor
of our dear friend and Grand Prior of France, H.E. Marcel dePicciotto, was also well attended. We had a
table for 15 at Christian's Restaurant and a wonderful time was had by all.

The meeting space graciously arranged by Chevs. Austin and Jane Sumner was a wonderful venue
and we can cater future meetings there as needed. The space is large enough for the entire Priory and
is extremely well appointed and tastefully decorated. The atmosphere was also wonderful. We are at present
attempting to establish our calendar for the next year so as to take advantage of the availability of this
wonderful meeting venue throughout the year. Also available just across the street is a very reasonable eatery
called Lafayette Sports Club for after meetings if desired. (It is a Sports Bar but very tastefully decorated
and the food is very reasonably priced and very good. I highly recommend the burgers and onion rings.)
Parking just across the street and security seem to be no problem . The venue has been secured for our
NEXT MEETING scheduled 6:30 PM THURSDAY January 13, 2004, 625 St. Charles Ave.
Since Mardi Gras parades preclude meeting Saturdays in January we are meeting THURSDAY instead.
Election of officers will take place. There will be light refreshments available.
Minutes of the last meeting are attached as usual.

LAST YEAR'S CHRISTMAS PARTY

Last year's Christmas Party at the Stroud's home was a lovely affair with several guests attending.
By the way, this is an EXCELLENT opportunity to invite guests to meet the membership of the Priory.
I also encourage all of our Postulant candidates to attend since we haven't seen some of you for a while.

GRAND CONVENT AND INVESTITURE MAY 2005
The hotel has been booked for the event. We are using the Astor Crowne Plaza/Alexa Hotel just inside the Vieux
Carre. There will be 50 rooms available at each of the adjoining hotels for a total of 100 rooms blocked. The rates will
be $115 at the Alexa and $129 at the Crowne Plaza. The banquet venue has not yet been decided and we will be
sampling the fare at the hotel before any decision is made.
The GPUSA Investiture will be honored with the inaugural appearance of the GPUSA Pipe Band consisting
of 5 pipers and 3 drummers. Leader of the Pipe Band is Chev. David Palladino. GPUSA has been working on assembling
a formal Pipe Band for some time and it has happily come to fruition in time for the event.

GET WELL SOON
Chvse. Jane Sumner has recently had a surgical procedure and is recuperating at home. On behalf of the entire
Priory I would like to wish Jane a speedy recovery. Our prayers are with you.

TAPS
The below was received from the Prior of the Priory of Our Savior, Los Angeles:
It is my sad duty to inform our Priory, Commandery and other members of our Order, that Chev. Ed Blecksmith's
son, 2Lt J.P. Blecksmith, was killed in action in Fallujah, Iraq, on November 11th, 2004, while serving with Company I,
3rd Battalion, Fifth Marines. Please pass this information on to the Knights and Dames of our Order as appropriate so that they and all Knights and Dames

Priory Inducts New Members

6/1/2001

With the oldest cathedral in the United States as a solemn stage, the Priory of St. Bernard de Clairvaux convened its fourth annual convent and investiture inducting six postulants as knights, elevating several knights and dames in rank, and officially passing the torch of priory leadership.  Gray skies and rain did not deter the priory officers from discharging their duties at Saint Louis Cathedral, in the French Quarter of New Orleans.  The photo collage presented below shows elements of the convent and the dinner reception held at Bella Luna's in the Vieux Carre.

Captions for each photograph may be displayed by placing and holding the cursor over the photograph of interest.
