NEXT MEETING- A general membership meeting will be held at 6:30 PM on Friday December 9th, 2005 at
625 St. Charles Avenue. This will be our Christmas Social event to reconnect and gather our flock. There
will be refreshments and it is hoped that every member will be able to attend so we can visit and enjoy each
other's company as a relief from the recent trauma of Katrina.

REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE THE PRIORY... WITHOUT YOU THERE IS NO PRIORY OR ORDER...
WITHOUT YOU THERE IS NO REASON TO HOLD MEETINGS NOR CAN WE FOLLOW THE CHARITABLE MANDATES OF OUR ORDER. YOU ARE THE KEY TO THE SUCCESS OR FAILURE OF THE PRIORY.
AND FINALLY, YOU ARE THE ONE WHO CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND BRING IN A NEW MEMBER.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LAST REGULAR MEETING-- Was held at 6:30 PM, SATURDAY JULY 9 at 625 St. Charles Avenue 4th Floor (across from
Lafayette Square.) This is the prestigious and elegant meeting space obtained for us by Chevs. Austin and Jane Sumner. Light
refreshments will be served, and those wishing to join other members for dinner after the meeting will adjourn to the Lafayette Sports
Club across the street. Please make every effort to attend and welcome our new members and hear reports on the Grand Convent and
Investiture of May 18-21. PRIORY AWARDS WILL BE ANNOUNCED. We are responsible for the clean up of the space so
any volunteers to stay and help tidy up will be appreciated. As usual, your Prior is committed to keeping the business part of the meeting
as short as possible. We ask that as many medical professional Knights and Dames as possible attend this meeting.
Meetings for the balance of 2005 are scheduled for July 9th, September 17th and November 12th, with our annual Christmas
Party at the home of Chev. Bob and Erin Stroud in Slidell scheduled tentatively for Sunday December 4th, so please pencil these dates
in on your calendars. The Christmas Party at the Stroud's is always a very lovely time.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS-- We are honored to welcome 9 new members and 1 Companion of the Order of Merit to the Priory.
We look very much forward to your participation in the work of the Priory and the Order.

Trinity Christian Community-- We have been in contact with TCC's Rev. Kevin Brown, who communicated
to our Aumonier, Chev Battle Bell, their need for help in funding security doors for their building. Last year we voted to support
TCC at an annual level of $1000.00. I have instructed our Treasurer Chev. Bob Stroud to forward our check as soon as possible.
Your Prior called Rev. Brown and spoke to him to advise him of our forthcoming help and our annual commitment to the TCC.
He was most appreciative and wished me to convey to all members how much this means to them and his deepest personal
gratitude. Those of you who attended the meeting at which Rev. Brown spoke will remember the profound passion and
commitment to the Trinity Christian Community he exhibited. It would have been difficult for us not to respond.

MEDICAL MISSIONS AVAILABLE-- Since our Priory is composed of a significant percentage of medical professionals
it is proper that we should create and participate in medically oriented charitable efforts. In response to a request several years ago
from our dear friend H.E. LT COL Marcel dePicciotto, MD, Grand Prior France, to have our Priory attempt to do some charitable work
to benefit the island nation of Haiti, a medical mission was created and organized by Chev. Louis Koerner. It was a major work and
was unfortunately aborted due to political considerations. New Orleans is a major medical referral center for South America and
the Caribbean, because of two excellent medical schools and Ochsner. Priory Chief of Protocol and Chirurgeon, Chev. Dr. Richard
P. Dickey, KTJ has taken up the gauntlet and made contacts with the officials of established medical missions sponsored by
several different groups and a comprehensive list of scheduled mission opportunities is available to medical and nonmedical members
of the Priory. A great many New Orleans medical, and dental practitioners as well as nonmedical volunteers participate in medical
mission trips each year. The intent of the Medical Volunteer Recognition program is to encourage Templars to participate in medical
missions to underdeveloped countries, and to offer recognition for their service by considering their participation during evaluation for
advancement in rank and other recognition. We recognize that many of our physician members cannot attend every meeting and
participation in medical missions will demonstrate the commitment to the Priory necessary for consideration for advancement. The list
of medical volunteer opportunities for 2005-2006 is intended for Priory members who are not already participating in some type of
volunteer program. Priory members who are presently participating in any of these medical missions or other similar medical,
humanitarian, or educational Programs will also be recognized as long as their participation is not primarily for the
purposes of religious evangelism. Each person participating in missions will be participating officially as Knight or Dame Templars
representing the Priory and the Order, but will be subject to the rules of each mission sponsor group. It is important that Templars identify
themselves as such by lapel pin insignia, but equally important that they not boast of their Templar connection. In other words, be Silent
Knights. A special system of awards will be created to recognize the service of all participants. If our program proves successful we will ask
Grand Chirurgeon, Chev. Dr. Hugh J. Robertson, to present the program to GPUSA and open participation to all Priories. A comprehensive
listing of medical mission opportunities is attached to this newsletter and will be available to Priory members at the next meeting of
July 9 or you can contact Dr. Dickey directly for further details.

LETTER FROM MR. TOM MAHONEY -- I have received a very nice letter of thanks from Mr.Tom Mahoney. You may remember
an appeal from Prior Emeritus II, Bob Disney, asking the Priory if it could assist Mr. Mahoney with funds to help reestablish himself
after losing his house in Florida last year.
"May 25, 2005
I would like to thank you and the Knights Templar for your most generous donation of money you had given me a year ago last month.
My neighbors across town Sheila and Bob Disney were able to channel me that money through you and your organization after I had lost
my house and I needed a rental apartment. That money was instrumental in helping me get another house for me and my dog which we will
probably have by this fall. Thank you very much.
s/ Tom Mahoney"

IN CLOSING -- I encourage all members to attend our meetings and participate fully in Priory affairs. I also ask you to
consider which of your friends and family would qualify for membership and who might engage fully with us in our charitable efforts and
actively participate in the other activities of the Priory. Only you can make the difference in their lives and the lives of others by
encouraging them to join and participate. This is vital to the health and continuance of the Priory and the Order.
